The Begining

Hello all!

This is my first blog so bear with me, it will improve.

Explanation: Curious about the title?  Well... this blog is an attempt to hold myself accountable to myself. I have bounced back and forth with my level of health and fitness probably all my life. For once I am trying to put an end to the waning back and forth. This blog will be a daily account of my overall health and fitness efforts. I plan to post my daily diet and exercise log. Whether I conquer the fitness world or sit on my ass all day eating pizza, it will be on here!  Yikes! OK. Spilling the dirt.  I also plan to post my discoveries about diet and exercise, including articles, book and dvd suggestions, tid bits on healthy food and natural living. If any one has suggestions or questions please write in.  Thanks for all the help and support in advance.

So let me dive in.

Today's diet:
Breakfast: half of a half of a green smoothie on the way to jury duty

Lunch: Organic Super Food Salad from Wholefoods

Snack: handfull of almonds and dried cranberries

Dinner: Roasted Vegtable Couscous, frozen dinner from Trader Joe's

Drink: Some water (not much), one cup of herbal tea, 2 vodka tonics

Exercise:
Morning: half assed leg exercises and a few stretches
Evening: Ankle exercises (if anyone has ever had a broken/sprained ankle you know what these are, very boring but keep you from getting another broken ankle)

OK, I know I can do better in the exercise department but for now I am off to eat dinner and clean up the apartment. Does washing floors count as exercise???

  2. Green Smoothies are just regular fruit smoothies with some leafy greens thrown in. It is a great way to get some much needed greens into your diet. Have you ever seen those commercials for fruit juices that have a full serving of veggies in them? Well this is basically the same thing only instead of drinking a high concentration of sugary jucie, you are getting all of the wonderful taste plus the added fiber we all need so much. A good book to check out is Green For Life by Victoria Boutenko, www.rawfamily.com

She has an amazing story about getting her whole faimly in almost perfect health through proper nutrition.
